Work was taking over everything and spilling into her relationships in her personal life. She did everything she thought she was supposed to do, checked all the boxes, and still was not happy, fulfilled, or have joy in her life. She was working long hours, not delegating or asking for help at work. She was the first one in the office and the last one to leave. 

CHALLENGES

On paper, it looked like Lisa had the perfect life. She had an incredible husband, kids, and grandkids. She was very successful professionally, working as a Controller, but she wasn’t happy on the inside.

The stress of working 70 hours, seven days a week was taking its toll making her stressed out, feeling angry, and like a burned-out mess. 

“I was missing the joy that I was really seeking to get back in my life. I truly thought I didn’t have a choice but to work myself to death which only fueled my anger towards the people that I perceived as not doing their jobs.”

Lisa works in a very male-dominated industry and always felt like she was not enough. She felt she always had to keep doing more just to prove herself. Her inner critic was telling her she had to keep working in order to have a seat at the table. She was totally lost and didn’t think it was possible to start a new path out of burnout and one that led her back to living a life she loved. 

RESULTS

After finding us on LinkedIn, she decided the way she was doing things was not working and she wanted her life back. She made the call with our team and enrolled in our program. The first half of the program was challenging for her because she had to take off the blinders, look inside herself and take stock of her life and what led her to feel so out of balance. 

Lisa says, “I’m a huge proponent of being personally accountable. But what I was totally missing was I was doing a lot of this and so I needed to turn this around and find a different way and that was very eye-opening.”

In our program, our clients talk about their individual pitfalls and see the part they are actually contributing to their burnout and lack of joy. What may have been a strength and may have helped you reach your success has now become a weakness to many high-achieving women like Lisa. She was committed to our program, making those shifts, and doing the work as she joined our community.   

“I can make these changes and find the support that I need to keep going in this direction. I can do this. And that’s when I really started to see the shift and that’s when at that time, the smile came back. That’s when people started noticing a difference in me.” 

When Lisa got clear on her purpose, she learned to delegate and say no, to set boundaries, and learn to receive support. She brought joy back into her life. Using the tools of the program she has become a better leader and is working a more manageable workload that is down to 45 hours a week. She found inner peace and calmness. 

Lisa learned that she is enough just the way she is and to accept things for what they are in the moment. She now sees the value of meditation and incorporates it into her daily life. The most important part of her journey is that she found joy in her life again and is incredibly grateful for everything she has. Lisa shared a few words of wisdom as she reflected on her time in our program. 

“I think first and foremost, you have to be open to embracing a new way of doing things. So that’s the first thing because you can’t identify that you need to do something differently. Second of all, you know, putting the time into making these changes in your life. If you do what you’re guided to do in the program, you will be successful.” Lisa, added, “you just have to make the commitment to do it… and for us, over-achieving women committing to doing something should be easy for us.”

I can make these changes and find the support that I need to keep going in this direction. I can do this. And that’s when I really started to see the shift and that’s when at that time, the smile came back. That’s when people started noticing a difference in me.
