MY NAME IS
Leah
AND THIS IS MY STORY…
Cloud & Digital Strategy Director
CHALLENGES
Like most high-achieving, professional women, Leah was focused on her career and making partner at her firm. She was working 16 hour days, had no professional boundaries, and the start/stop of her days were all blurring together.
Leah had always told herself that if she could just reach her goal, then she could slow down and all her sacrifices will be worth it. But that wasn’t working.
She was spending the majority of her time with her coworkers instead of her family. She was showing up to meetings and calls feeling highly stressed. She didn’t know where or how to start to change her life and have it not centered around work.
On the outside, Leah was a professional woman on the fast track to advancing her career. On the inside, she was overgiving and dealing with issues of perfectionism.
Leah wanted to add to her family, but she knew that if she kept working the same way, she wouldn’t have time or space to have a child. She knew that staying exhausted and anxiety-filled would impact her health and wouldn’t allow her to be the type of mom or wife she wanted to be.
Leah came to us very skeptical about achieving the results so many other women in our program have had. She started with an email asking if she was on the edge of burnout. One Sunday morning she watched our Masterclass and booked her Breakthrough Call thinking, “what do I have to lose?”
RESULTS
After researching and reviewing our company Leah and her husband had a conversation about enrolling in our program. While she respected her partner and his concerns, she knew she needed this for herself, for their marriage, and for their family.
“I was not asking permission,” stated Leah, “I did care deeply that he was in the loop and felt as though he was informed and had the information. But at that point, I knew I had to make this decision for myself.”
Now, two years after becoming an alumnus of our program, her husband has been singing the praises of our program and how it has changed Leah, allowing her to find the balance she was searching for.
When she first began implementing the lessons and strategies she was learning, she got her time back. She slowed down and became very intentional in setting boundaries, learning how to set boundaries, and learning how to communicate those boundaries.
She discovered, “When I slowed down, I got promoted.”
Leah’s intentional slowing down allowed her to find her true passion work in social justice. She is now doing work that matters to her by working with other business leaders from hundreds of other companies specifically focused on improving the lives of Black Americans through policy advocacy-making lasting change.
This is an opportunity she admitted she would not have taken before joining our program because she would have been too focused on becoming a partner and the race to the next achievement. Leah is now a change-maker in her community who has taken the tools she’s learned to benefit the world around her in new ways.
“I think that for the over-achieving, high-performing woman who also wants to do good in this world, you’re not alone. You don’t have to do it alone. And this program teaches the tools and strategies that we’ve never had a reason to otherwise learn.”
Leah is now connected to her purpose and she stands in her power as a pioneer in feminine leadership. She sees the value of the program and continues to receive dividends over and over again in her professional and personal life. She now has the power and the clarity to choose how she wants her life to look.
