MY NAME IS
AND THIS IS MY STORY…
Principal Software Engineer
Deepti works as a Principal Software Engineer and found herself in massive burnout and headed towards a breakdown. She felt constantly overwhelmed, stressed out, unable to turn off at night, and was left drained by the end of her 14-hour work day. As a mother of 2 small children, she was not able to be present with her kids.
When she was spending time with her family she felt irritable and cranky and yelled at her loved ones. Her relationship with her husband was suffering because she was always anxious about work. Years prior she was able to separate between the two whereas now, her mind was preoccupied with thoughts of work. This was not the kind of relationship she wanted to have with her husband.
“We were at a point where even sitting together and talking for five minutes was a difficult thing to do and I just felt disconnected from everything.”
She was stuck and it was taking a toll on every major area of her life. The stress started to directly impact her health.
Deepti vividly recalls a time when, “…I was covered in hives and rashes…and through all of that, I was still working like 14-hour days without a break and trying to get things done. I didn’t know why I kept doing the same thing again and again and how to get out of that cycle.”
She was stuck in a job where she felt taken for granted. Though she was able to help the company succeed and grow, she did not find the same advancement opportunities for herself within her role.
Deepti has done some leadership coaching but overall it did not change the amount of work she was doing and did not allow her to move forward in her career. She gained some awareness, but overall she didn’t feel it integrated everything outside of work in a holistic way. She knew she needed something more to understand how to break these patterns.
Deepti learned how to be fully present for her kids. She was able to help her son acclimate to a new school because she shared the tools she now had to get him to be happy.
Deepti is also more deeply connected to her husband. Through the program, she has learned how to better communicate even the most difficult topics. She can see how doing our program has changed her relationships.
Deepti also went from 14 hours/days to now working 6 hours/day and focusing more on being present for her family. She is in a better place in her career where she is now setting boundaries. She is becoming who she needs to be and embracing all parts of her life coming together.
When asked what she wanted other women to know about working with We Are The Women, she said, “Trust the journey…come with an open mind, just take the leap of faith and you’ll see… you’ll see the difference both inside and outside.”
Out of desperation, Deepti found her freedom by trusting the process and taking this internal journey for herself. She is a shining example of how inner changes lead to outer changes so that our lives can be integrated as women.
